Pissing Matches over Sinfulness

1/In terms of sinfulness, how to rank fornication, sodomy, masturbation, and various other symptoms of social decay is not exactly easy

2/Fornication should, in theory, be mildest: misdirected/mistimed love, & all that. But stir in contraception, abortion, seduction… damnèd

3/Dante & others argue masturbation’s particularly sinful because it turns desire away from others, towards the self. Hard to ignore.

4/But what is unique for the POLITICS of sin is that sodomites want a cultural, institutional, and sacramental recognition of their sin.

5/First step in gay rights movement was elevating sin into a lifestyle; second step, getting a civic religion that celebrates that lifestyle

6/In contrast to fornication: where all the physical love lacks is an emotional and spiritual commitment in front of the entire community.

7/& to masturbation also, where despite decades of normalization people still (rightly) despise masturbation; nearly a synonym w low status!

8/We all have duties towards other sinners. Whether these are broad or narrow, participating in a perpetual public paean to sin is no good.

9/This all, from a XP perspective. Public health issues (& similar) are a more pressing and broadly persuasive angle from which to attack.

10/And further, all of this is about goals. As a matter of organization and tactics, spazzing about right-wing gays is a waste of time. Fin.

>Lol. I agree he is intolerable but I just unfollowed him. He’s a great asset, though, and if you can’t see that, what can I say?

Tbh I think part of Milo’s deal is mocking the liberal order, seeing what he can get away with, externalizing self-contempt

>Yeah, Thiel is a good benchmark for the attitude ppl should take towards their own failings. Otoh some ppl prefer openness.

Th: Also, today I realized how much Islam squares the shitlib circle on these issues. A deus ex machina or cutting Gordian Knot.

Essential solution lies in pan(post?)-racial authoritarianism. A Muslim USSR in micro and macro.

>Hahah, ohhh gotcha. Wow, from left field but very insightful. We go all “slippery slope” on leftism, they skydive to the bottom.
